mean = offensive, selfish, or unaccommodating; nasty; malicious: a mean remark; He gets mean when he doesn't get his way.
I wonder why are some people mean to others.. and especially towards people they don't know. The only few reasons i can think of are:
- To get a kick out of it
- To hurt them
- To enforce their shoulds and shouldn'ts on others
- To show that they do not accept people who do things differently from them
